The Barista’s Wager by Kyle Autumn – Review by Layna

34885422Title: The Barista’s Wager

Thirsty Thursday #4

Author: Kyle Autumn

One day, I’m doing my job and minding my own business…

Literally. Just making coffee and putting the pastries out. That part is true.

Then in walks this man with the most amazing green eyes.

It’s too bad he has the worst attitude.

Except it’s only because he hates his new job. When he’s not upset about being unhappy, he’s actually amazing.

So we make a deal. Even though I have no idea how I could possibly hold up my end of it.

The Barista’s Wager is the fourth addition to the Thirsty Thursday series. It’s a novella containing roughly 15k words. Just because it’s a shorter book doesn’t mean it’s not written well. I fell in love with these characters! This is one of my favorites in the series, I mean they all are, but this one was so good! It’s easily read in one sitting, keeping your attention throughout the story.

We’ve previously met Kimber throughout the Thirsty Thursday series. I love that she got her own little spin off story. Kimber is a peppy and up beat, barista. I wish she were my barista, she’s just that good! Kimber hasn’t had any luck with relationships lately but all that’s about to change. In walks Jordan, preparing for a new job that he already hates. He was happy in New York but he wanted to be closer to his father, so he moved. Jordan and Kimber hit it off quickly and so begins their short tale of romance.

This made a great addition to the series! It gives you a little snippet into the other character’s lives and how their own romance stories are progressing. Kimber and Jordan are such lovable characters and they suit each other perfectly. This is yet another great read by Kyle Autumn!
