A steamy supernatural suspense that will send chills down your spine… A sexy Aussie Detective. A witch who doesn’t know her power. A demon who could destroy them both. For her, he’ll break all the rules… Upon returning to her hometown for her grandmother’s funeral, Sage Matthews is terrorized by a series of strange events. She dismisses each eerie occurrence as a by-product of her overwrought emotional state, until it becomes chillingly clear that something not of this world is desperate to get a message—or is it a warning?—through to her… Detective Sergeant Ethan Blade comes to Cryton, South Australia, to catch a serial killer. When Ethan meets Sage—the latest victim’s beautiful granddaughter—his attraction to her is explosive and inconvenient. He knows she’s not crazy, but Sage’s theory about the murders is unbelievable. With the handsome detective rejecting her ideas, Sage embarks on the supernatural journey that her grandmother started. What she discovers shatters everything Sage ever knew about herself—and who she really is. Ethan’s routine case quickly turns personal when he discovers Sage is the killer’s next target. For her, he’ll break all the rules and cross every line. But how can he protect Sage from an evil he cannot even conceive of?

I was given an e-copy in exchange for my honest review from Reading Alley. I had heard of this title before but never had that aching feeling that I needed to get my hands on the book, how wrong I was. When I received the book and began reading I instantly knew I should have read this book long ago. I was drawn in and sucked in the scenes playing in my head as I read, imagining the perfect cast for the characters, thinking of music that may be playing, almost as if a movie were going on in my head but all because of the book itself.

It was written in a style that allowed for the perfect pace of events to unfold, but never kept you waiting that long for the next gasp to leave your lips. I think the plot and the characters were written well and fit perfectly, this is one of those books that make you question what could happen next and just when you think you know, you end up being surprised it went another way than you expected, I am usually pretty good at being able to predict such events at happening, especially with romance, but as that was part of the plot, it wasn’t unforeseen, but what was were the events in the book.

I truly enjoyed this and finished it in one sitting, I recommend this to other paranormal romance lovers like myself.
