The Girlfriend’s Secret by Kyle Autumn – Review by Layna

Title: The Girlfriend’s Secret

Thirsty Thursday #3

Author: Kyle Autumn

One day, I’m doing my job and minding my own business…

Okay, I’m actually at a bar, but I am minding my own business. That part is true.

It’s Thirsty Thursday, my favorite part of the week. The night all four of us girls go out and let loose right before the weekend starts. But, tonight, my best friend of fourteen years drops a bomb on me.

It’s too bad my parents will never, ever approve of our relationship.

Except I’m willing to put myself through hell to be with her.

I absolutely cannot tell the girls about this at the next Thirsty Thursday… Or maybe ever.

I never thought I’d have to be drunk to tell her how I feel about her. But I’m fed up of keeping it to myself. I’ve loved her for nearly half of my life, and it’s time she knows what I’ve kept secret.

What I don’t expect is her to pretend like I didn’t say it. Sure, her parents won’t like it. But that doesn’t mean we’re not worth a shot, right? She doesn’t realize I have just as much to lose as she does.

It’s too bad she’s The One.

Except she offers me one night.

Am I willing to give my dreams up in exchange for one night with my dream girl?

Here we are with the third installment to the Thirsty Thursday series. The Girlfriend’s Secret is the story about the struggle of Patti and Zo coming out and admitting they are a part of the LGBT community. The secrets between the two kept me invested in the story, I was very interested to see how things worked out for them.

Zo is such a worrywart and has a huge struggle to admit to anyone that her and Patti are girlfriends. She is afraid of losing her friends and family. Her parents are very religious and Zo knows that they will never accept her being a lesbian. Patti agrees to keep their relationship a secret and waits for Zo to be ready to tell everyone. Patti and Zo have been best friends since they were teens but have secretly loved each other for many of those years.

The Girlfriend’s Secret was a very sweet and romantic story. There are plenty of steamy scene between the girls. I feel like in order to get a good grasp on what is happening in this story, you need to read the first two books. The ending of the book was utterly perfect. I teared up just reading about the love that Patti and Zo shared. This was my first f/f novel and I really enjoyed it. It made for a great addition to the Thirsty Thursday series!
