Thirsty Thursday #2

Author: Kyle Autumn

Release Date: February 22, 2017

Genre: Sexy Romance

Synopsis:

Lyra
One day, I’m doing my job and minding my own business…

Okay. Maybe barging into your friend’s fake-slash-real fiancé’s coworker’s office isn’t considered minding my own business. But I am doing my job. That part is true.

When one of your girlfriends needs you to have their back, you do it. Even when she hasn’t asked. And that’s what I’m doing today.

It’s too bad his kisses are infuriating.

Except his kisses are addicting. And I can’t stop thinking about them.

Especially now that I’m having his baby.

I absolutely should not tell the girls about this at the next Thirsty Thursday…

——————-

Blake
I’ve suddenly become the CEO for a very successful tech company, which should be enough of a surprise for one weekend. But no. Life throws another one at me.

The board now wants me to follow in the old CEO’s footsteps and become a family man. But Chaz didn’t just bring Shiree into my life. He brought her best friend into it too.

It’s too bad she’s feisty when she’s pissed.

Except it’s so damn hot when she’s feisty. And I absolutely need more.

What if the board is right about this “family man” stuff after all?

Review:

I absolutely adored Lyra and Blake’s story! The CEO’s Baby starts off where The Billionaire’s Package left off. In case you forgot, we just found out that Lyra is pregnant and her relationship with Blake was hinted at in the previous Thirsty Thursday novel. The book starts off in present time, Lyra confides in her best friend Shiree, who is also pregnant. Congrats all around, right? Wrong. Lyra and Blake’s relationship starts out rocky and continues going on this downward path. It was comedic at times, but it was always entertaining.

My favorite thing about this story was how it started out in present day and then it jumps back three months. This time hop allows us to see how the start of Lyra and Blake’s “relationship” begins. Lyra and Blake each had their own unique personalities and I enjoyed reading both of their sides of life through their POV’s. I loved the dialogue and character’s inner monologues. They felt like real characters and were relatable in their own ways. Although I didn’t always agree with Lyra and Shiree’s friendship structure. Lyra didn’t tell Shiree a lot of things right off the bat and I know if my best friend didn’t tell me she got knocked up by my husband’s best friend, I’d be pretty livid. Remember, communication is key to all relationships. I think Lyra learned her lesson with that one.

The CEO’s Baby is my favorite in the Thirsty Thursday series thus far! I love how you can read these books and get little hints of what’s to come in the series. It keeps things interesting and you just have to continue to read to find out what happens next!
